Copyright © 2009 dawi Famous Morning Glory Pool. It is located in the Upper Geyser Basin, Yellowstone NP, WY. Unfortunately it is losing some of its beautiful blue color.
The reason?
Over the years visitors tossed coins and trash into the pool, causing its vent to clog and the flow of water to decrease. This prompted the temperature in the pool to lessen, causing the pool's deep blue color to fade and allowing the red and yellow algae that formerly only survived at the fringe of the pool to grow toward the center.

"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe." (Einstein)
Great that you could conserve at least the momentary state of this awesome spot in this pic. Shows how little things repeatedly done by many individuals can have a major impact on nature - a bad one in this case, good ones in others.
Still looks pretty awesome though, and its an interesting colour combo too.
IT doesn't look like water, very alien.
